MEDIA LIBRARIAN
URGENTLY REQUIRED
We are currently looking for a
volunteer to re-catalogue and maintain our current
Vinyl & CD Library. With the introduction of computer playout systems
our library has unfortunately been neglected. As we pride ourselves in
playing requests for our patients no matter what format it has been recorded
on, we would like to bring our
library & filing system up to date.

VOLUNTEERS URGENLY REQUIRED
We are currently looking for
volunteers in a none broadcasting capacity to attend hospitals during the
daytime to visit Patients and promote BHBN Hospital Radio, making sure that
the Patient is aware of the service and ensure that they can operate the
bedside units.
Applicants would also be expected to liaise with the Patient Media
Entertainment provider.
(i.e. Patientline & Premier)
This position would suit an
unemployed or retired person who would like to put something back into the
community, and spend a couple of hours a week doing voluntary work.
(Please note - applicants will have a CRB - Criminal Record Bureau -
check )

We are always looking to strengthen
our team with new talent.
However, Birmingham’s BHBN
operates a selective system of volunteer recruitment. We do this
to ensure that we maintain our high standards of patient contact
and broadcasting both now and into the future.
We do not ‘take people off the
street’ and simply put them on air! We look for those who can
make a meaningful contribution to our work over a reasonable
period of time in our selection process.
This means that if you want to join us you have to demonstrate the
potential for developing the basic competencies and commitment
needed to be a volunteer at Birmingham’s BHBN.
What kinds of jobs are
available?
Not only are we looking for
broadcasting staff, but people who are prepared to do Production
work, Administration, Publicity, I.T. and Odd Jobs.

So can I apply?
To be considered for an audition
and interview you must:
- Be
a minimum of 16 years old
- Of
good character with no criminal convictions – a police check
may be carried out
- Demonstrate
potential for, and commitment to, hospital broadcasting
- Demonstrate
the ability to work in a team
- Live
in, or within a reasonable distance of, the City of Birmingham
- Complete
the application form

The recruitment panel will consider
the application and decide if you are to be invited to an
interview and audition.
If
you are invited to interview and audition and are accepted into
probationary membership, you progress onto our training course and
appropriate duties at the Network.
We are only looking
for volunteers who wish to have a long term interest in the
station and age is certainly not an issue, provided you are over
16.
