Do you want to get involved?

We are always looking to strengthen our team with new talent.

However, BHBN operates a selective system of volunteer recruitment. We do this to ensure that we maintain our high standards of patient contact and broadcasting both now and into the future.

We do not ‘take people off the street’ and simply put them on air! We look for those who can make a meaningful contribution to our work over a reasonable period of time in our selection process.

This means that if you want to join us you have to demonstrate the potential for developing the basic competencies and commitment needed to be a
volunteer at BHBN.

AS A VOLUNTARY ORGANISATION NO ONE IS PAID AT BIRMINGHAM’S BHBN!

What kinds of jobs are available?

Not only are we looking for broadcasting staff, but people who are prepared to do Production work, Administration, Publicity, I.T. and Odd Jobs.

So can I apply?

To be considered for an interview you must:

  • Be a minimum of 16 years old
  • Of good character with no criminal convictions – a police check may be carried out
  • Demonstrate potential for, and commitment to, hospital broadcasting
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team
  • Live in, or within a reasonable distance of, the City of Birmingham

How do I apply?

To apply to join us contact the  Recruitment Officer on 0121 554 5522 leaving your name and address or email: recruitment@bhbn.net

If you are invited to interview and audition, and are accepted into probationary membership, you progress onto our training course and appropriate duties at the Network.

We are only looking for volunteers who wish to have a long term interest in the station and age is certainly not an issue, provided you are over 16.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO OUR HOURS OF LIVE BROADCASTING WE CANNOT ACCOMMODATE WORK EXPERIENCE APPLICANTS OR MEDIA STUDENTS ON A SHORT TERM BASIS
