Words and Music is a magazine programme produced by Bob
Bartlett for BHBN Hospital Radio and Presented by Brian Henderson and Ian
Cope.
From time to time guests are interview live in our studios.
A guest that appeared in Words and Music in late October was
Dr Alice Roberts
Alice studied medicine and anatomy at Cardiff
University qualifying in 1997
She worked as a junior doctor in South Wales before
moving to Bristol University where she taught anatomy on the medical course
for over 10 years. Alice is fascinated by biological anthropology and in
what ancient skeletons can tell us about human evolution.
Alice is at home whether she is on an archaeological
dig or as a presenter for the BBC programme ‘Digging for Britain’. Alice
Roberts first appeared on television as a bone expert on Channel 4’s
archaeological Time Team.
Alice also ventured into radio, presenting ‘Costing The
Earth on Radio 4 with a host of other Radio 4 programmes two other
television series ‘Don’t Die Young’ and ‘The Incredible Human Journey’ gave
us an insight into the human body and then the philosophical question of
all, where did the first human beings originate from.
Alice has also written books to accompany the series of
these programs.

On the 3rd November David Ash and Rebecca Salari from the
Alzheimer's Society were the guests on the show.

The Alzheimer's Society is an organisation that helps people
who are suffering with dementia and gives support to their families and
carers. Many People contacting the Alzheimer's Society
helpline are seeking ways to deal with the sadness their mother, father or
other relatives and the family comfort they have know before. Many
people describe the situation as a long goodbye. The
Alzheimer's Society fully understand the situations people are confronted
with and are available to give carers and their family tremendous help and
practical support with difficult decisions that relatives and family members
are faced with. They are striving and campaigning to make a difference
and offer good quality care for people with dimentia. For

During the course of last year one of our guests on the
programme was Michelle Munro.
Michelle has wrote a book in tribute to her late
father entitled The singer's singer the life and music of Matt
Munro during the interview we spoke about Matt's life and how he started
out with becoming a renowned legendary singer and performer.

The Media Archive for Central England (MACE),
Has project which is called FULL CIRCLE They are looking for local
community, midlands related, moving film image material to show a
record of Midlands life in the community as it was years ago.
They may be old film reels or cinematic film
that astonishingly that have been found in attics or they may have
just been passed down by other members of the family.
This film footage could also be home movies
that historically would represent life in the Midlands and should be
preserved for the enjoyment of future generations.
