                 Exciting new ventures

j
im Eggison & Martyn Williams have been given the green light to develope a number of exciting new ventures, including mass publicity, station rebranding, childrens programming, audio books re-classification of the media library & a sports magazine programme.

They will require help on some of these ventures, being a member of BHBN is not just about being a presenter.  If you are interested and want to help out then contact Martyn at publicity@bhbn.net or leave a note in the studio for them.

                      Email mailing list

We wish to make contact with the members of BHBN easier and would therefore like to build a list of everyones email address so that we can keep everyone informed of forthcoming events and develoments. Please email your email address bhbnradio@hotmail.com

iPod, MP3 & Laptop Connection

I have now installed a lead to facilitate the use of an iPod or MP3 player through the broadcast desk.

The minijack lead is on the right hand side of the desk and is marked with a yellow label.

To play an iPod or MP3 player through the mixer it must be patched using the jackfield on the lower right hand side of the desk. Plug the leads from the sockets marked iPod MP3 to AUX INPUT.

This does mean that the turntable cannot be used simultaneously.

When you have finished your programme please replace the leads so they are patched from Studio 2 to AUX INPUT.

HOWEVER DO NOT PRINT THE LIST TO USE TO COLLECT REQUESTS.

WE HAVE AN EXTENSIVE LIBRARY OF VINYL AND CD MATERIAL THAT MUST BE USED IN REQUEST PROGRAMMES, YOU MUST LET THE PATIENT CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR AND NOT SUGGEST WITH A LIST. IF WE DO NOT HAVE A PARTICULAR TRACK, PLAY SOMETHING SIMILAR BY THE SAME ARTIST OR THE REQUESTED TRACK BY A DIFFERENT ARTIST

SPORTS TEAM MEMBERS
Please note if you attend Football matches as part of the commentary team, you are expected to compile a report for this website.  Please email the report to Dave Horton in a word document for inclusion to hortonfam@blueyonder.co.uk
MANY THANKS

HEADPHONES
The headphones throughout the studio especially in Studio 5 are expensive items to replace.  Please treat them with the utmost care.

Although an email was sent to all members on the mailing list and memo's displayed around the studio stating that any damage to headphones must be reported to the Technical Controller immediately the incident occurs, one pair of the Bayers were recently found with the wires pulled from the plug, and another pair were hung on the rack in the same condition, neither of which were reported - THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.  Please consider that other presenters need to use these pieces of equipment.

RECORDING INTO MYRIAD
Please note, that unless you have made prior arrangements with the Technical Controller or you have sought permission PRIOR to recording, Recording onto MYRIAD is not permitted.

A track has been recently added to the system in the wrong area because the person who recorded did not follow the correct procedure.

If you wish to import tracks into the system you must phone the Technical controller for permission and instruction.  Unless it is done correctly, currently it can have an effect on the operation of the system. Also whilst the installation of the system is on going, the Technical Controller has a 'mirrored' audio database that has to be kept as an exact copy of the studio system, and therefore needs to know what is imported and where.
